Sculptures

On the occasion of Design Miami/Basel 2023, Ketabi Bourdet is pleased to present Sculptures, a collection of fifteen chairs designed in the 1980s by fifteen historical designers.

The desire to present this ensemble came after the visual shock of the exhibition of Thierry Barbier Mueller’s chair collection staged by Robert Wilson at the MUDAC in Lausanne last winter. The scenography is signed by French artist Bruno Rousseaud who imagined staircase-like pedestals mimicking the archetype of a chair.

Amongst the most striking pieces of the collection will be the Barbare chair by Garouste & Bonetti, the n°4 chair by Vincent Bécheau and Marie Laure Bourgeois, one of the Hundred Chairs in one night by Paolo Pallucco or the Hamletmachine chair by Bob Wilson which is a clear reference to the MUDAC show.

Last but not least, the gallery will present a chair designed by Pierre Staudenmeyer and one by Gérard Dalmon, who were the founders of Galerie Néotù.
